CINEMA LOMNICE NAD POPELKOU

After 7 years of project preparation, an intensive search for subsidies, a signature event in support of the reconstruction and digitization and discussions at the city council, the first real steps were taken in the spring of 2017, leading to the start of work. In the beginning of September, the complete reconstruction of the building started, which included, among other things, a reduction in the length of the screening room due to the cinema technicians' requirement to bring the projection booth closer to the screen, new facilities for performers in the area next to the stage, technical facilities corresponding to the requirements of the new cinema technology, a new area for ticket sales and small refreshments in the foyer, demolition of some annexes due to their poor technical condition, change of the curve of the auditorium, replacement of seats with modern armchairs and double armchairs with drink holders and other minor modifications.

Of course, the cinema equipment was also completely replaced. Visitors can admire the image brought to them by a 4K RGB Christie CP4325 laser projector while watching movies. This is the first RGB laser projector installed in the Czech Republic. It stands out above all for its image quality, long service life and low operating costs. It will dazzle viewers not only with the quality of the image, but above all with its beautiful colours and perfectly rendered image details (6000:1 contrast).

Another first is the use of HDR content from Eclair Color. EclairColor delivers an intense movie experience to the viewer thanks to its high quality colour reproduction, higher contrast, greater brightness, sharper details and greater image depth. EclairColor is like a stereoscopic film without 3D glasses. EclairColor is a new HDR (High Dynamic Range) solution that combines film material conditioning processes and optimization of selected projection system technologies already available on the market. The colour palette is much richer, especially at high and low light sensitivity: gradients are much more subtle even for the darkest colours. The additional contrast helps to reveal smaller details, even though the resolution in pixels remains the same. Colours are therefore more natural, especially in landscapes or on faces.

Of course, the cinema will also feature a unique Dolby Atmos sound system that surrounds the audience on all sides and immerses them in the film.

For the needs of the multifunctional hall, audiovisual equipment for theatrical performances, concerts, lectures and theatrical and stage intelligent lights have been installed.

The screens of the digital signage system (digital display of film posters and trailers) will appear not only in the foyer, but also in front of the cinema.
