THE CZECH REPUBLIC IS TRAINING TO DEFEND AGAINST CYBER ATTACKS! KYPO HELPS

The digital age not only makes many activities easier and more automated, but at the same time creates a very dangerous environment, in which individuals and entities act with less than good intentions. The Internet has become an environment for the dissemination and sharing of but also a battlefield where wars are fought without convention.

The unique environment of the Cyber Polygon is prepared for several working scenarios. The first one is used for standard lectures with a maximum capacity of 40 participants. During lectures, an electric projection screen controlled by a control system will be used for presentation. The Barco RLM W12 projector, which can be used for both classical and stereoscopic projection, transmits the data to the projection screen.

The second working scenario is designed to simulate a cyber attack. It takes place in the form of teaching independent teams. These are divided into a maximum of six independent working groups with three to four specialists. Each working group can use a mobile cart with a 42" LCD LED display and Full HD or UHD/4K resolution. The LCD displays are used to share images of a particular working group or between groups and the presenter. The presenter's table is equipped with a Smart Podium 524 interactive touch panel, which allows comments, text, graphs or other visual information to be inserted in colour into the shared visual content.

Another working scenario is the visualization of a cyber-attack or other challenging physical, medical or chemical simulations, which will also serve other research partners with whom KYPO collaborates. The video wall, made up of 15 full HD NEC 46" LCD monitors in a configuration of five columns and three rows spaced up to 6 mm apart, can also serve as a central display area for teaching groups working independently.

The Cyber Polygon laboratory is connected to the control room equipped with the AMX universal control system. It controls the main projection, the video wall, adjusts speaker volume parameters, switches inputs and outputs from individual work tables or mobile and videoconferencing carts. The entire laboratory will also be used for representative corporate events, presentations and professional trainings of companies located in the building of the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University. The cyber polygon has thus succeeded in creating a multifunctional space that will find application not only in simulating a possible cyber attack, but also in other professional and educational activities.
